A number of people have invited me to this cafe but I just haven't been able to make it. I am very glad I finally got there. Love the decor. There is seating outside. Service was very personable. Our lunch orders were as described & well received. The coffees were to our liking. We lingered for a couple of hours. Definitely would return.

Great spot for a coffee. We enjoyed breakfast. It seemed a very popular spot for the locals. Seats inside and out.

Located at 34 Pitt Street, Mortdale, New South Wales, Australia ????????. I have never had a bad experience with this cafe. The service is wonderful, the food is delicious and the prices are so reasonable, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone wanting a great meal. It’s very popular here with the locals and people who work in Mortdale. During peak hours, it’s hard to get a table. There’s plenty of street parking ???? out front. Thumbs Up!

The food is up there with some of the best breakfasts I've had in Sydney. Seriously good cooking. The coffee is awesome. Scratching my head as to why it isn't busier and the answer is simple, it's a hidden gem! Highly recommended, I'll be back.

My partner and I just had breakfast here, it's a nice little place, the coffee's great and the breakfast was well-made, and it's nice to be off the main street, like a 30-second walk from the train station.

Nice little café on the outskirts of the town centre. The food was really fantastic in terms of quality. Fairly standard Australian fare, but done to a high standard. The kids food however was extortionately expensive for the size (see photo). Coffee was unfortunately pretty poor. Not a good extraction and no latte art. Service was friendly but a little inconsistent. Very attentive at first, but then seems to forget about us so we had to go back inside to order. Then they either didn't put through or forgot to make a coffee, so we had to chase that up. Again very friendly throughout so I think probably just bad luck. The place is a lovely spot to go. It's off the main strip and so is a little quieter, but is only a very short walk from the centre. Highchairs were available and parking was right outside.

Sugar Salt espresso is located in southern Sydney, close to the train station in Mortdale. In a suburb filled with an array of multicultural restaurants, this cafe is the only one of its kind. It’s the perfect place for a top coffee or a weekend brunch. We visited on Mother’s Day and naturally this meant it was super busy! We sat outside, but well looked after by the wait staff. The cafe had a lovely surprise, giving all the mums there a flower! How sweet. They also had ‘Mum’ donuts which made it a special day for the mums there. They had even arranged another special surprise for a mother, when her son returned from the army to deliver her coffee! Despite the fact it was totally packed out, the food did not come with a long wait. The chef was extremely efficient and food came out quickly and beautifully presented. It was a super cold and rainy day so we got some warming dishes. The eggs Benedict with truffle hollandiase sauce, and your choice of ham, bacon or salmon (we chose ham), and some asparagus and greens, it was a lovely combination of flavours. We also had the smashed avo with poached eggs, pomegranate and the sliced almonds were a nice touch. We enjoyed our visit and appreciate the good service and hospitality.

Fantastic little café off the main street. Good décor, nice background music, not too noisy, excellent food and prompt, efficient service. Have had lunch there a couple of times so far and really enjoyed the experience.. will be back!
